Unveiling of the Iranian Cheetah Statue in Shahroud
The head of the General Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province announced the unveiling of the Iranian cheetah statue in the village of Geyvar, Shahroud County, concurrent with the first "Turan, the Habitat of Iran" Tourism Festival.
According to Miras Arya, Bahman Akhlaghi stated: On Thursday, September 17, 2025, on the sidelines of the first "Turan, the Habitat of Iran" Tourism Festival, in the presence of Fatemi, Director General of Domestic Tourism Development of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, the statue of the Iranian cheetah was unveiled in the village of Geyvar, Shahroud County.
The head of the General Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province added: This statue was made using recycled metal materials with the aim of reminding the importance of protecting the Asian cheetah and the environment, and it is considered a symbol of the commitment of the local community and related institutions to safeguard this valuable animal species.
He continued: Members of the National Tourism Committee, the Deputy for Development and Management, the Head of the Tourism Department of the General Directorate, and the Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Shahroud County were also present at the unveiling ceremony of this artwork.
Akhlaghi emphasized: Holding festivals and installing such symbols plays an important role in raising public awareness, attracting tourists, and strengthening the connection between people and nature and wildlife.
