
Shahroud Hosts the Second Day of the Second National Ecotourism Festival

According to the IRNA reporter, Jalal Tajik, referring to the second day of the Second National Ecotourism Festival held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, stated: Semnan Province and the city of Shahroud had the honor of hosting this national event, which was held with the aim of strengthening the country's ecotourism network, exchanging experiences, and introducing the tourism capacities of different regions.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province added: In this national program, Mohseni Bandpei, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Fatemi, the Director General of Domestic Tourism Development, Ajm, the representative of the people of Shahroud and Mayami counties in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Dahrouyeh, the Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Semnan Province, Assefi, the Special Governor of Shahroud and Deputy Governor, the Mayor of Shahroud, managers of ecotourism accommodations from across the country, and a group of officials and activists in the field of tourism were present.
He stated that the National Ecotourism Festival is an opportunity for synergy and brainstorming among the activists in this field, and elaborated: In various parts of this program, national and provincial officials discussed the policies, plans, and strategies for the development of sustainable and eco-based tourism, and emphasized the role of ecotourism in economic prosperity, local job creation, and the preservation of cultural identity.
Tajik further stated: The performance of cultural programs and ritual music of ethnic groups, the introduction of prominent tourism capacities of the province, and the unveiling of the bilingual branding site of Qaleh Bala village were among the prominent parts of the morning program of the second day of this national festival. This site was designed and launched with the aim of internationally introducing this target tourism village and strengthening its path towards world registration.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province noted: Semnan Province, with its unique climatic diversity, the presence of desert, forest, historical sites, and target tourism villages, is one of the most promising destinations for ecotourism development in the country, and holding such events can play an important role in consolidating the province's position on Iran's tourism map.
