According to an IRNA reporter, Mohammad Taherian said today, Wednesday, April 15, 2026: In the field of tourism in Semnan province, the new policy has focused on producing short, creative, and impactful content by utilizing the capacity of professional artists, photographers, and filmmakers, in such a way that even a short video can create motivation for travel in the audience. The Deputy Governor for Tourism of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province added: In this regard, holding specialized fam tours to invite media activists and content creators as tourism ambassadors of the province is on the agenda. He pointed to the province's infrastructural capacities and said: Ecotourism accommodations, due to their location in pristine areas, act as tourism destinations themselves and play an important role in the balanced distribution of travel. Taherian considered desert ecocamps to be one of the major gaps in the province's tourism sector and said: Despite the unparalleled desert capacities, the lack of active ecocamps is one of the important gaps in the province, which will be provided for their creation and development by strengthening inter-organizational coordination and removing existing obstacles. The Deputy Governor for Tourism of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province referred to the importance of presence in national and international arenas and added: The global registration of historical sites and the introduction of target tourism villages are among the main priorities of the province. In this regard, the village of Qaleh Bala has been proposed as one of the prominent options for registration in the list of the world's best tourism villages and can play an important role in attracting tourists interested in indigenous culture. He stated: Designing tourist routes in mountainous and desert areas, as well as defining combined tours with neighboring provinces, is being done in order to respond to the needs of today's tourists who are looking for different, exciting, and adventurous experiences. Taherian also referred to the policy of ceding historical buildings and said: The transfer of these buildings and even some administrative spaces to the private sector with long-term contracts, with the aim of reviving them and entering the tourism services cycle, is being pursued. The Deputy Governor for Tourism of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province also emphasized the importance of training and attracting investment and noted: Training courses are being held to improve the quality of tourism services and empower activists in this field, and considering the presence of foreign students and educational tourists, it has been planned to use this capacity as tourism ambassadors to introduce the province in their countries of origin.
