
Registration of Qaleh Bala Village as a World Heritage Site is Underway
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province said that the registration of Qaleh Bala village, a part of the Biarjomand district, is underway.
According to the Public Relations of the General Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province, Amir Karamzadeh stated on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, that the registration of Qaleh Bala village, a part of the Biarjomand district, as a world heritage site is underway. He added that due to the significant employment of the villagers in eco-lodges, no unemployed individuals are seen in this village.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province stated that tourism constitutes a significant portion of the economy in the Biarjomand region, adding that tourism is a great hope for many of its residents and plays a substantial role in the local economy.
Karamzadeh identified infrastructure development and creativity as two main issues in the tourism industry, emphasizing that in attracting tourists, besides having suitable scenery, climate, and being good hosts, we must also be creative.
He continued by saying that these creative initiatives, in terms of hospitality and the perspective of the residents, should be shaped by the people, and the model of tourism creativity found in Qaleh Bala village should be established in all villages.
Karamzadeh assessed the Biarjomand region as suitable for hot air ballooning due to its plains. He added that there is a capacity for tourists to witness the wildlife and diverse species of this region from above the Kharturan National Park and enjoy hot air ballooning.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province emphasized that increasing events and festivals is one of the most important strategies for boosting tourism.
