According to the Heritage News Agency reporter, Seyyed Mohammad Sadegh Razavian stated on Sunday, 24 May 2026: This program was designed with the aim of connecting the ecotourism capacities of the village with the conservation needs of wildlife, so that interested individuals can become closely acquainted with the connection between the historical-indigenous texture of Qaleh Bala and the pristine natural expanses of Turan.
The head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department of Shahroud County emphasized that Qaleh Bala, as one of Iran's main natural tourism destinations, plays a key role in the path toward World Heritage inscription. He added that this village, due to its location adjacent to the Turan Biosphere Reserve, is not just an accommodation destination but is recognized as an official gateway and cultural base for entering the heart of the habitat of the Asiatic cheetah, Persian onager, and gazelle.
Referring to the presence of participants in this field tour, he clarified: Visiting the terraced architecture and indigenous texture of Qaleh Bala at the beginning of the program provided the context for tourists to better understand the historical coexistence of the local community with nature. Subsequently, moving towards Turan National Park and observing parts of this valuable habitat was a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the prominent wildlife species of Iran and the environmental sensitivities of the region.
