According to Mehrnews, Majid Ajami, the head of Turan National Park, on the sidelines of the "Zag-bor" festival, referring to the importance of this valuable species, said: The Zag-bor is a rare and endemic bird that lives only in the plains of the Turan Protected Area. This bird is a symbol of Iran's biodiversity and a testament to the ecological richness of this ecosystem. The Zag-bor nests in mid-March, and its chicks hatch in April and quickly gain the ability to fly.
He continued: Every year, birdwatching groups from all over the country and even from outside Iran travel to the Turan region and the vicinity of Qaleh Bala village to observe this unique species. This presence, in addition to increasing public awareness about the protection of wildlife species, plays an important role in the development of sustainable tourism and support for the local economy.
