Protective Flood Barrier in Qaleh Bala / An Effective Step for the Security and Sustainability of the Global Village
The village head of Qaleh Bala announced the implementation of a concrete stepped flood barrier project in the tourist destination village of Qaleh Bala.
According to a reporter from Mirath Arya, Alireza Keyghobadi said on Sunday, June 7, 2026: The tourist village of Qaleh Bala, due to its location on the slopes of the mountains and the path of surface water flow, has been exposed to intermittent floods in recent years, an issue that has always been a major concern for residents and local management. In this regard, and with the aim of reducing natural hazards, a concrete stepped flood barrier (Sababand) project was implemented in this village to guide and control surface water.
The village head of Qaleh Bala, referring to the importance of this project, stated: The implementation of this flood barrier was a preventive and strategic measure, the positive results of which have fortunately become clearly evident in recent years.
He added: This protective infrastructure has played an effective role in guiding surface water and preventing floodwaters from entering the residential areas of the village, significantly increasing the safety factor of the region.
Keyghobadi stated: Today, the safety of the lives of the residents, the village houses, as well as the agricultural lands and pastures, which form an important part of people's livelihood, has been significantly strengthened against the risk of floods, and this has brought greater peace of mind to the locals.
The village head of Qaleh Bala emphasized the connection between safety infrastructure and tourism development, saying: Ensuring safety and managing natural hazards are among the most important prerequisites for sustainable development in tourist areas.
He clarified: The creation of such infrastructure, in addition to protecting people's lives and property, provides a more suitable environment for the presence of tourists and the prosperity of tourism activities in the region.
Keyghobadi stated: The village of Qaleh Bala, which is listed among the best tourist villages in the world, is today, by benefiting from preventive measures and safety infrastructure, a successful example of the link between crisis management, environmental protection, and sustainable tourism development in the east of Semnan province.
