The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province added: Six of the province's caravanserais were registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List at the UNESCO General Assembly in September 2023, including the Anvan Caravanserai, Semnan Caravanserai, and the historical Miandasht Caravanserai.
Stating that the Miandasht Caravanserai is considered the largest caravanserai in the country, he said: This historical complex belongs to three different historical periods and is among the national prides of the country.
Tajik further emphasized the province's lesser-known capacities: The existence of numerous and valuable historical castles in various parts of Semnan has created the capability for the province to be introduced as the national base for the country's historical castles.
