According to the reporter of Miras Arya, Jalal Tajik stated today, Thursday, May 20, 2026, at the second National Ecotourism Festival hosted by Semnan Province and held in Shahroud, while explaining the province's prominent capacities in the field of cultural heritage and tourism: Out of a total of 54 remaining caravanserais from the Safavid era in the country, 13 caravanserais are located in Semnan Province, which indicates the province's special position in the history and civilization of Iran.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Semnan Province added: Six of the province's caravanserais were registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List at the UNESCO General Assembly in September 2023, including the Anvan Caravanserai, Semnan Caravanserai, and the historical Miandasht Caravanserai.
Stating that the Miandasht Caravanserai is considered the largest caravanserai in the country, he said: This historical complex belongs to three different historical periods and is among the national prides of the country.

Tajik, inviting the activists in the country's ecotourism sector to further introduce Semnan's capacities, noted: It is expected that the activists in this field will introduce the province's tourism capabilities to domestic and foreign tourists using their extensive experiences and connections.
