According to the Heritage News Agency reporter, Seyyed Mohamad Sadegh Razavian said on Monday, 1 June 2026: In line with preparing the necessary ground for the global registration of Qaleh Bala village and to increase tourists' awareness of the region's natural values, two interpretive signs focusing on the biological and behavioral characteristics of the valuable species, the Sociable Lapwing and the Asiatic Cheetah, were installed along the tourist route of this village.
The head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department of Shahroud, referring to the technical specifications of these signs, added: These structures have been designed illustratively and scientifically, with content in both Persian and English, to provide a suitable platform for educating domestic and international tourists.
He stated: The Sociable Lapwing, as the only endemic bird of Iran, and the Asiatic Cheetah, as a symbol of the wildlife of the Iranian plateau, are endangered species for which Qaleh Bala is considered their main habitat, and their accurate introduction is part of the identity of this tourist destination.
Razavian emphasized: The installation of these signs is not just an educational measure, but part of the global registration file for Qaleh Bala. In global standards, attention to the interpretation of natural heritage and raising visitors' awareness of the region's biological richness are key components in evaluating destinations eligible for inclusion in the list of Global Tourism Villages.
