According to an IRNA reporter, Mohammad Hassan Assefari stated today, Thursday, May 20, 2026, at the second gathering of the country's ecotourism managers: The security and peace of the country today are indebted to the sacrifices of martyrs, and holding such events in this secure environment is a valuable blessing for the country.
The Special Governor of Shahroud County and Deputy Governor of Semnan, while appreciating the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism for holding this gathering in Shahroud, added: The presence of managers and activists in the field of ecotourism from across the country in this county has provided a valuable opportunity to introduce the extensive tourism capacities of the region.
He pointed out the unique features of this county and stated: Shahroud, as a city with four different climates, from the cloud forest to the desert, and from historical and cultural attractions to ecotourism target villages, possesses unparalleled capacities to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
Assefari also referred to the status of Shahroud's tourism villages and said: Qaleh Bala, an ecotourism target village in Shahroud County, is on the path to global registration, which indicates the importance and value of these areas at the national and international levels.
The Special Governor of Shahroud County and Deputy Governor of Semnan stated: The existence of great figures such as Bayazid Bastami and Abul Hassan Kharaqani has doubled the cultural and historical richness of Shahroud and has turned this county into one of the important destinations for spiritual tourism in the country.
In another part of his speech, he referred to the capacities of the county's handicrafts and added: Products such as felt, Jajim, and other artistic creations in various regions such as Bastam, Kalateh-ye Khij, Majan, and Royan, are a manifestation of the art, culture, and efforts of the people of this land.
Assefari expressed hope that the participants in this gathering, during their stay, will become acquainted with the diverse tourism and handicraft capacities of Shahroud and play a role as ambassadors for introducing this county throughout the country.
