Documentary on Qaleh Bala, a Tourism Target Village, Produced
According to the Public Relations of the General Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Semnan Province, "Hossein Khajehbidokhti" stated: This documentary film has been produced with the aim of introducing the tourist attractions of Qaleh Bala village and will soon be broadcast on national and international channels of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.
He said: This film has been produced at the request of this general department with the aim of promoting ecotourism and tourism in Semnan Province. Qaleh Bala village is among the tourism target villages of Semnan Province, which hosts a large number of foreign tourists annually.
Qaleh Bala village is located 140 kilometers southeast of Shahroud and 24 kilometers from the city of Biarjomand. The foothill location of this village has caused the construction of residential areas, agricultural lands, and gardens to be terraced, and this, along with the use of traditional and local materials in building houses suitable for the foothill climate, has created a beautiful landscape on a plateau of the desert.
The proximity to Turan National Park and the presence of wild animals and birds such as the Asiatic cheetah, Asiatic wild ass, the endemic bird Sahra-e-Boor, etc., attract many tourists and nature lovers to this village. The agricultural products of Qaleh Bala are of very high quality, mainly wheat, barley, pepper, and turnip. This village also has green gardens of pomegranate, walnut, apricot, yellow fig, and grape. Staying and spending evenings in Qaleh Bala is very memorable. Observing the desert night sky, sitting around a fire (atishuni) with charcoal-baked potatoes accompanied by desert tunes and songs, camel herding, and listening to old stories and legends by the elders leaves a memorable journey in the mind. The most important souvenirs of Qaleh Bala village are pepper, cumin, pomegranate, sesame, and medicinal plants. Spring and autumn are the best times to travel to Qaleh Bala and the Khartouran region.
