According to Miras Arya, Seyyed Mohammad Sadegh Razavian stated: A consultation meeting for the global registration of the tourist destination village of Qaleh Bala was held with the presence of the Director General of Domestic Tourism Development of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, members of the National Tourism Board, and a group of residents in the mosque of Qaleh Bala village, with the aim of examining the unique capacities of Qaleh Bala on the path to global registration.
The Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Shahroud County added: During this meeting, ecotourism activists, by delivering specialized speeches, explained the importance of the Turan Biosphere Reserve and its vital role in conserving endangered species, especially the Asiatic cheetah, and emphasized the necessity of local community participation in conservation and educational processes.
He stated: Qaleh Bala is considered an unparalleled national model not only in the field of tourism but also in social awareness, environmental protection, and public participation.
Razavian clarified: This meeting was warmly welcomed by the residents, and suggestions were presented for the development of tourism infrastructure, strengthening inter-sectoral cooperation, and enhancing the status of Qaleh Bala at national and international levels.
He pointed out that the historical village of Qaleh Bala is located 21 kilometers from the city of Biyardjmand and east of Shahroud County, clarifying that Qaleh Bala is situated in a foothill region, and its houses utilize a terraced architectural style. The proximity of the Turan Protected Area to the village, the preservation of houses and historical texture, the abundance of eco-lodges, etc., have transformed this village into a tourist destination for Iranian and foreign travelers.
The Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Shahroud County concluded by expressing hope that with the continuation of such interactions, Qaleh Bala will soon be registered on the World Heritage List and shine as a brilliant gem in the field of Iranian tourism.
