Beside the valuable Touran ecosystem, Qaleh Bala has become a remarkable example of community-led tourism development in Iran. Within this story, the women of the village have played a decisive role in shaping and sustaining the process.

Through initiative and collective participation, they founded Boorina, the Creative House of Tourism and Handicrafts—a local center that works to connect handicrafts, education, responsible tourism, and the protection of the environment.

At Boorina Creative House, the women of Qaleh Bala draw on their traditional skills and indigenous knowledge to create handicrafts inspired by the region's flagship wildlife, especially the Asiatic cheetah.

These products carry artistic and cultural value, but they also serve as a tool for sharing the message of protecting nature.

Alongside producing handicrafts, Boorina Creative House provides a space for educating children, introducing visitors to environmental values, and supporting conservation activities. Part of the income from these activities is dedicated to protecting the region's nature and wildlife, such as the forage donation and the improvement of water sources for wildlife.

Today, Qaleh Bala is not merely a tourist destination; it is a successful example of how a local community comes together to preserve culture, strengthen the rural economy, and safeguard nature.
